When I heard at the hospital that there was a support organization, I was so relieved. My whole family is filled with gratitude. Thank you very much for your help. Since I became ill, I have become very aware of people’s kindness and my thankfulness toward them.

I was very shocked when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, but a friend of mine found this 3.11 Fund of Children with Thyroid Cancer on the internet and told me about it. After I became sick, my days were filled with anxiety about my illness and about how I could support myself. I was very grateful when I found out that I could receive assistance from this program. Since I became ill, I have become very aware of the kindness of people around me and the thankfulness I feel toward them. I will do my best for the surgery I am about to undergo. To those who, like me, became ill with this disease at an early age. When you were diagnosed, you must have been stunned. Your mind must have gone blank. Maybe you couldn’t find words to express your anxiety and sadness, so you kept everything locked up inside you. I think your anxiety gets even bigger if you do that.

But don’t worry. There are definitely people who will support you. And in fact, now, I’m living a wonderful life—what people call normal. The most important thing is to smile! But when you’re in pain or suffering, it’s even more painful to force yourself to smile, so then, please turn to the people around you. We’ll do our best together.

One day, all of a sudden, my daughter was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had half of her thyroid gland surgically removed. She is progressing well, but currently has regular hospital visits for follow-up and must follow dietary restrictions limiting her iodine intake.

She will need to visit the hospital regularly in future, so we will use the aid money for her hospital visits.
